New MAVIX Features

New Features for MAVIX MediaRacers

MAVIX announces new Features and Options for the MediaRacer 1xx family

Local Recording Options

All MediaRacer units now come standard with 2 USB ports for local recording; one internal and one external. Users can plug in a USB external hard-drive and record video locally. The internal USB option allows for a hard-drive up to 100 GB.  The system can record on both encoded video streams simultaneously with our built in recording feature.

Imagine if the network goes down, the unit will still be recording, and the video remains on the local hard drive, to be retrieved or viewed at any time.  Also, either hard-drive option can be easily removed from the unit and connected to a PC for viewing, or transferring files.

Extended Temperature Versions

All MediaRacers (including the units with internal hard disk) are available in extended temperature versions that can be used out on the field in extreme conditions. The ‘spikes’ on the MediaRacer work as a heat sink and removes the excessive heat, keeping the interior of the unit at the proper working temperature.  All MediaRacers are designed fanless, thereby increasing in the MTBF of the units and reducing the noise.

Extended temperature units have an operating temperature ranging of -40°C to 74°C (cold startup at -34°C).

Web Browser Feature

MediaRacers are now enabled with web browser capability.  This allows the viewing of live (any stream) and recorded video from the remote unit on any PC, without any software installation other than a standard web browser and an ActiveX control.  This feature includes PTZ camera control.  The PTZ camera protocol is selectable in the web browser page.

There are three security levels available for this web browser feature:

a)     Administrator – full web browser features.

b)    Operator – all web browser options except Network Configuration.

c)     Simple Operator – to view live and recorded video only.

SNMP (MIB II) Support

MIB II (RFC 1213) is now supported.  This management protocol defines the second version of the Management Information Base (MIB-II) for use with network management protocols in TCP/IP based internets. Together with its companion management protocols (RFC 1155), which describe the structure of management information and the network management protocol for TCP/IP based internets (RFC 1157), this protocol provides a simple, workable architecture and system for managing TCP/IP-based internets and in particular the Internet community.

Dual IP Address

MediaRacers can be set with 2 IP address or/and with two gateways simultaneously. A user have a valid internet IP address to allow the public to see the video to the internet and another IP address to use on a local LAN.

Quality of Service

New parameters have been added to the MediaRacers taskan.ini for QoS (Quality of Service) support in IP_TOS field (IPv4 only). These parameters can be set for all transmitting sockets (management, video, audio, RS232, DIO) and can be configured independently. This feature enables smooth transmission over the congested network environment.

MD5 Watermark

All MediaRacer video streams add video frames (I frames) at the source (encoder) with a special user-data block containing the sending unit’s IP address, MAC address, serial number, frame date-time, and a MD5 signature of all video data and added fields.

The MD5 signature is calculated for the above data by the standard MD5 algorithm, but secret keys are added making it impossible for others to calculate or mimic the signature.

MAVIEW Player – New Features

MAVIEW Player (Version 6.3.4.1) is released with the following new features:

a)     New search method – the old file list search is replaced with a new graphic timeline.

b)    MD5 watermark check.

c)     Export to CD/DVD in MAVIX or standard VCD or DVD formats.

Multi-unicast Option

Multi-unicast option has been added for each of the MediaRacer video streams. Any MediaRacer video stream can set to one of three options:

a)     Normal – multicast generated only in case of more then one video monitoring is requested.

b)    Multicast only – always send multicast stream. Configurable for each stream.

c)     Multi-unicast – always send unicast, even if more than one video monitoring connection is requested.  Example: if two connections for video monitoring are requested, the unit will send two separate unicast streams to each destination. Also, in order to protect the network from overload, we are able to limit the number of outgoing unicast connections from the unit. Configurable for each stream.
